The health department accepts interns in a variety of programs, including but not limited to:

  • Environmental Health
  • Health Promotion
  • Nursing
  • Nutrition
Internships are often arranged through school programs. Please check with your university on your internship requirements. For internship opportunities please view our current openings. Volunteer Programs


Volunteers are vital to ensuring the health and wellness of McLean County residents. Health department volunteers are a part of the McLean County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). A medical background is not needed to volunteer with the MRC. Click here to learn more about becoming an MRC member.
