Flu shots don’t give people flu, not getting flu shots does!

Sick-Guy

The truth is anyone can get the flu, so don't be afraid of getting a flu shot. You can help protect against a debilitating and potentially fatal disease. A lot of people count on you, but not for the flu. Don't risk being a carrier of the virus before you even realize you've contracted flu. If you're not willing to get the flu shot for your own health, do it for family, friends, and your community.

Anyone over 18 years of age is invited to attend one of the flu clinics listed below. A special family flu clinic will be held on October 28 flu clinic at the Bloomington Fire Department. This clinic is open to the entire family and will have vaccine for anyone ages 6 months on up. Flu vaccinations can also be scheduled by appointment at the health department by calling (309) 888-5455 for ages 6 months to 18 year of age and (309) 888-5435 (option 4) for adults over 18 years of age.

When attending a flu clinic please bring your public or private insurance card. For those wishing to pay out of pocket for the vaccination, the cost is $30.00.  Most insurances cover the flu vaccine and the health department also participates in the Vaccine For Children (VFC) program, which provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to pay. VFC families are uninsured, underinsured, or have Medicaid coverage and are residents of McLean County.
