May is Asthma Awareness Month

kid_inhaler (002)

During Asthma Awareness Month, parents and guardians of school-aged children who are diagnosed with asthma are encouraged to download and fill out an action plan for their children. Give a copy of the completed plan to teachers, coaches, babysitters, camp counselors -- anyone who will be spending time with your child. The plan describes the steps to take if your child begins to experience symptoms.

Asthma affects more than 230 million people worldwide, including more than 25 million people in the United States— about seven million of which are children. There is no way to prevent asthma, and there is no cure. Treatments involve preventing or controlling the disease symptoms.  Fill out the Asthma Action Plan today.
