Your Health in Your Hands
Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths for women in McLean County. It is estimated that one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
The goal of the Health Department's breast health program is to encourage women to seek regular mammograms and clinical breast exams in order to have the best chance at early detection and survival, as well as promoting breast self-awareness.
The breast health program is partially funded by the
Susan G. Komen for the Cure Memorial Affiliate, as well as
Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
