Criminal Division

Misdemeanor & Felony Cases

The Criminal Division prepares and maintains all misdemeanor (CM) and felony (CF) case files.

  • Criminal misdemeanor (CM) - A crime that is punishable by a fine and by a term of imprisonment served in the County Jail not to exceed one year. Punishment also includes fines, court costs, restitution, as well as various forms of court supervision and probation.
  • Criminal felony (CF) - A crime that has a greater punishment by statute than a misdemeanor. Felony crimes are punishable by imprisonment in a penitentiary for sentences that exceed one year. Felony imprisonment terms can include life sentences. Felony matters also are subject to fines, costs, and restitution. Probation and other sentencing options may also be considered.

Processing of Payments

The division processes payments of fine and costs and issues any bond refunds when the case is concluded.
