MISSION STATEMENT
To honor and represent the finest traditions of the law enforcement profession; the dedication of all who serve within it; and the sacrifice of those who died in the performance of their duty.

PURPOSE
The McLean County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard Unit formally represents the department at various ceremonies and functions. This includes rendering honors to police officers who make the ultimate sacrifice. These honors will be offered to the family of deputies fatally injured or who otherwise die in the line of duty. Additionally, deputies who retired in good standing will also be eligible for these honors. The Honor Guard will predominantly function as a color guard to present the National Colors at the commencement of numerous community events, memorials, and other ceremonies. The Honor Guard is a specialized unit which represents and demonstrates the professionalism, discipline, and precision that should be expected from every sworn deputy while performing their duties.
