Problem Solving Courts

Functions

This program provides comprehensive daily supervision to a maximum of 40 high-risk adult felons as an alternative to costly penitentiary commitment.

Requirements

Problem Solving Courts is intended to be performance based supervision driven by the results of an assessment tool (LSI_R). Therefore a client may need to be on IPS for longer than a year or shorter than a year depending on their level of compliance with their court order.

During the Intake period the division will assess the client and develop a supervision plan while providing a high level of surveillance based supervision. The IPS officer will make referrals to services that will provide the probationer the opportunity to lead a law abiding life while providing public safety.
