Assistance to veterans and their families is available in obtaining, filing, and completing forms for claims to state and federal agencies, such as the U.S. and Illinois departments of Veteran Affairs, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Public Aid, and others to secure the benefits and services to which they are entitled.

Military Records of Military Veterans
Assistance to veterans and their families is available in obtaining certified copies of active duty records (primarily the Certificate of Discharge DD 214 or its predecessor, the Report of Separation).
- Eligibility: Veterans and their direct next of kin
- Application: Walk in to our office
- Necessary Documents: None; however, having on hand the SSN, military service number, branch of service, place and date of birth, dates of service, and rank / grade can speed up the process.

Information about human service resources in the community is available to link veterans and their families who need assistance with the appropriate service providers.
