The Food Protection Program provides protection against foodborne illness by assuring that foods provided by food service establishments, retail food stores, and temporary food service events are safeguarded against contamination or adulteration.

Food program activities include:

  • Conducting food establishment inspections
  • Issuing food permits
  • Enforcing state laws and local ordinances
  • Reviewing plans for proposed food establishments
