Vital Records 

Requests for vital records (birth, death, marriage, and civil union certificates), including genealogical requests

Marriage and civil union license applications and recording of solemnized marriage and civil union certificates

Property Taxes

Redemptions of delinquent real property and mobile home taxes

Tax computation based on the levies submitted by taxing districts

Business Services

Assumed Names for sole proprietorships with addresses in McLean County

Applications for Liquor Licenses, Fireworks and Massage Parlor Permits (except City of Bloomington) 


Recording of real estate documents (i.e. deeds, mortgages, plats, etc.), legal documents (i.e. agreements, POA’s, etc.), military discharge records, and other documents

The duties of the Recorder’s Office are handled by the County Clerk

A referendum to place the duties of the Recorder’s Office into the County Clerk’s Office was passed by the voters of McLean County on November 6, 2012 and took effect on December 31, 2013. Both offices continue to provide professional, dedicated customer service to the public and will remain at their same locations with telephone numbers, email addresses and website links remaining the same.
