Functions

The Facilities Management Department is responsible for the following areas:

  • Assisting the McLean County Board and the County administrator with long-range space planning and facilities forecasting as well as installation of all network data cable systems in County-owned and operated facilities
  • Completing general duties, including maintenance, custodial, utilities, mail room, parking lots, remodeling, and renovation projects
  • Ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and OSHA standards
  • Evaluating workstation ergonomics
  • Managing the bidding every three years of the trash removal contracts for all County facilities, and any federally mandated programs that impact the people and facilities resources of the County
  • Managing major construction projects for all McLean County facilities, including all mechanical systems such as electrical, gas, water, trash removal, fire alarms, security alarms, elevators, HVAC systems, sewer and sanitation systems, exterior grounds maintenance, and roof maintenance
  • Performing the annual bid specifications and bidding of all approved furniture and fixtures for County offices
